Limitations of water fire extinguishers
Fire extinguishers are the devices that are used for the controlling small fire accidents in the houses and at work places. The fire extinguishers are of many types, there are the CO2 extinguishers, the water fire extinguishers, the sand and silicon ones and many more. The different types are used for different kinds of fire. The water fire extinguishers are the ones that have water and other freezing chemicals stored in the cylinder. The water fire extinguishers can help in controlling and extinguishing fire caused due to small accidents in the kitchen or burning of wood, cloth and other non volatile substances.
The water fire extinguishers have few limitations, since the basic ingredient used in them is freezing materials and water, thus they cannot be used for extinguishing fire caused due to electrical faults and oil burns. Oil is lighter than water and thus it will float over water and the water fire extinguisher would not be able to control fire which involves burning oil. Even electricity is conducted by water, thus one should be careful and never try to extinguish fire caused due to oil and electricity. The label of the extinguisher clearly reads the terms and conditions of use and thus one need to know them before installing them in the house.
